We (the girls and I) have been in Germany for almost 3 weeks now. I am very impressed with the beauty of the country and the feel of back in the day when everything was simple. The community that we reside in has an average age of about 70, which makes it very very quiet. We have not even seen anyone with kids that the girls could play with:( Very different from our old neighborhood when you couldnt back out of your driveway without backing over a kid if you were not looking. It amazes me how many people walk, bike, and ride the bus. Also people are very active here. I dont mean that they go to a gym every week but instead as a part of everyday life.
Last week I took the drivers course and got my license but i am very nervous to drive. Mainly for the reason of getting lost and not being able to stop and ask for directions because nobody speaks English.
There is too much to write to get caught up so i will just start from last weekend. On Saturday we went to a castle in St Goar. It was beatiful as you can see in the pictures. On Saturday night we went to a small festival by our house which was neat. The girls danced and ate cotton candy while Nick and I relaxed and had a beer. We walked to the festival which was about half a mile and the weather was perfect.
We are sitting here awaiting the arrival of our stuff today so once that gets here we will be busy getting settled, finally after 2 months of being shuffled here and there. Once we get the house set up I will post more pictures!
